Most of the hate of Muslims is rooted in the Wahhabi sect from Saudi Arabia. 1 billion Muslims in the world and most are in South East Asia. Seems to me with so many there would be far more problems. Not all Muslims run wear Burkas and have long beards and carry long knives to behead non believers. The root of the Global evil is the Wahhabi’s and their followers, its not the whole population of Muslims. Iran is run by the Wahhabi’s, Khomeini brought them in with his revolution and they took over the country.

A Muslim may or may not privately support jihad.

A Muslim who openly OPPOSES jihad is in violation of the precepts of Islam, is an apostate, and is subject to death under Sharia law.

This is how the "extremists" (ie, fundamentalists) gain control - to disagree with the plain text of the Quran and Hadith is to be labeled apostate. You cannot disagree with the fundamentalists and still consider yourself a Muslim. Other Muslims will make you an outcast, at the least.

Consider the position of a black person, among his black friends and relatives, who announces that he's a conservative Republican. Now multiply that reaction a thousandfold for the anti-jihad Muslim.
