The New England Patriots will sign Tim Tebow, league sources told ESPN's Ed Werder.
The Patriots are signing Tebow, who is expected to participate in the team's mandatory minicamp Tuesday, as a quarterback, according to sources.
Patriots spokesman Stacey James would not confirm that Tebow had already signed when contacted Monday by The Associated Press, saying that he did not "anticipate any additional transactions to announce tonight."
The move will reunite Tebow with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who was the Broncos' head coach when Denver traded into the first round to draft the Heisman Trophy winner in 2010.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick often has spoken with admiration for Tebow's versatility, intelligence and character. Belichick covets what he has described as tough, smart, versatile football players.

So St. Pete opens the gates for Tom Brady. He strolling along with God down the streets of gold. God shows Tom his new mansion and Brady is very impressed. As they walk on, Brady sees a huge mansion on the hill .As they get closer ,Brady sees a Gator flag in the front yard. Then he see a Tebow banner, number 15, on the front door. Brady is beside himself and questions God; God I’ve won 3 super bowls, 2 MVP’s and have some of the highest QB totals in football. Why does Tebow get such a big house. God turns to him, Tom, Tom ,that’s not Tebow’s house that’s my house.
Oh, that’s great! Got a good chuckle out of it.
Not exactly theologically correct, but I do believe that God appreciates Tebow, for the man he is and not the football player.
Good luck to Tebow in the queer-f-l...
Revisionist history and Testaverde is full of crap. Elway worked on his footwork. Craig Morton told him his footwork was screwed up. Steve Clarkson told him. Noel Mazzone told him. John Fox told him. Adam Gase told him.
Oh, yay!!!
Now my hubs will have to stop saying that Tebow can’t play in the NFL....ha!
No inside info here but watching the end of a Pats/Bronco game, I noticed Brady, who usually just gets off the field, stop and talk with Timmy.
Wouldn’t be surprised that Brady had something to do with this decision.
Great story. I’ll be using it (*if it’s OK)...
