RECON TRIP!
I've found two suitable cottage/cabin facilities that can accommodate our group for next years TCMS.
Mill Creek Ranch Resort
(available Oct16 weekend)
and
Lake Whitney Marina
(available both weekends)
mylife will look into less known possibilities.
Yep..that would be best route coming down from Grapevine if we stayed up that way for sure.
Btw...I was off on the prices for the houses on Cedar Creek Lake. Those prices were for the whole 3 day stay! So not as bad at all!! For the house that ran 995.00 and sleeps 8.... That would be about 50.00 a day per person. I am waiting to hear from the dude and will let everyone know. He wanted to wait until next January to book for 2014 season, but I told him we would want to settle on price and accommodations before then if we choose his place.....so waiting to hear back. He was going to offer a discount as well..so prices likely will be less...hopefully.
Ask if it would be ok to put 2-3 travel trailers on the property for overflow.
I foresee a bed shortage since I can’t find a dang houseboat in the area to rent. :(
I’m okay with waiting until January to book it if he needs to wait. 16 months in advance is a long time. Who knows what could change between now and January.
It’s up to y’all.
He said that the houses can sleep up to 42 people. I was wondering if we might want a couple of porta potties for ‘overflow’....lol. There are 6 houses in all. A few will have to sleep on queen size futons in a sunroom and living room, but most have separate bedrooms and baths. I will ask him though but my guess is that might not be possible. I will let you know.
Really?
You know that area better than I do.
I am fine to wait too, just don’t want him raising his prices on us or any big surprises. I agree though that that is plenty of time to settle on the place or not.
That number diminishes rapidly with the number of single folks attending.
Also consider that small groupings of folks will need to occur in order to maximize the arrangement. Some folks may prefer their privacy.
If I may humbly suggest that you hit the TGMS ping list.
I just happened to stumble upon the thread:-)

You are right...I was figuring two to a bed...lol. We could always bring blow up beds though, but your point is well taken. Most of the single gals probably don’t mind sharing a bed, but probably not you guys...lol.
The devil made me do it!!!

Me thinks you presume a bit too much! LOL
Don't forget the kid factor...prolly 3 beds needed there.
Hmmm...perhaps I do...lol. Other option might be to look at other cabins on lake for overflow. We can have most people come to Lakehouse site for parties and porch monkey time and then go back to other cabins on lake for sleeping. I dunno...I have never herded cats!
Miss Lady, what’s this about table dancing?
Ask the owner if his neighbors rent out too.
The further distance would well suit those less likely to inbibe at Margaritaville!
You’ll be an expert cat herder after this event!!
Now, that’s funny! LOL! :)
Yes, my table dancing didn’t work out too well. Since I weigh 300 pounds, and I’m only 5’ tall, it resulted in the demise of the table and several people who got too close.
It’s just too horrible to contemplate, and I just can’t understand why deoetdoctrinae brought it up.
When y’all get it all figured out, let me know. :)
Glad to be of some service

Will do...just start savin’ yer change...
We got two roundups next year fer us tards!
(wait till I get Ms.B ta cat herd’n us to Maine! LOL)
Bryan and I would definitely prefer to stay in our own cabin rather than sharing a house with anyone.
Yeah, we’re both weird that way.
