I’m not a beer drinker myself, so I guess I have no opinion on this. I will say, however, that people who mix good scotch with coca-cola or sprite should be shot.
Some beers really lend themselves to this actually.
Hefeweizen with lemon or lemonaid is a tradition in Germany.
It is very, very good.
Served very cold on a hot summer day, it is refreshing and has the benefit of a low ABV so you can drink a lot of it without getting smashed.

My GF had similar opiinion of people asking for Jack and mixer
Almost lost my B-I-L (RIP) several years ago when we poured him a most generous portion of expensive cognac and he topped it off with orange pop. Still makes me shudder.
