"A Little Romance"

With Diane Lane, Sir Laurence Olivier, Thelonious Bernard, Arthur Hill, Sally Kellerman,
Broderick Crawford, David Dukes, Andrew Duncan, Claudette Sutherland

1979, Rated PG, for kissing scenes between very young teen children, 110 minutes

A very bright pre-teen American girl, Laurel (Lane), meets a smart boy, Daniel (Bernard) the
same age, in Paris, where her actress mother (Kellerman) is working on a Broderick Crawford
(himself) movie directed by a man on whom she has a crush. Laurel and Daniel meet an elderly
man (Sir Larry) with a lot of romantic notions and stories about his late wife. From all he said,
the one thing that the kids want to do is go to Italy and kiss under the Bridge of Sighs at sunset
when the bells are ringing at the end of day. Then they will love each other for ever. It was cute
and delightful.

"G.I. Joe: Retaliation"

With Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, Walton Goggins, Ray Stevenson,
Adrianne Palicki, RZA, Ray Park, Joseph Mazzello, Arnold Vosloo, Byung-hun Lee,
Jonathan Pryce, Elodie Yung

2013, PG-13 for intense sequences of combat violence and martial arts action throughout, and
for brief sensuality and language, 110 minutes

An elite team of patriots, the G.I. Joes, is framed for treason by an aspiring global conqueror
who has replaced the president (Pryce) with himself by use of a perfect nanobot disguise. The
team is attacked and killed, but for three, Johnson, Palicki, and Park. They discover what is
going on and must recruit help to stop it. It was a really great shoot-'em-up.

[Harmless Teddy Bear]

I second the GI Joe review.

It was sheer popcorn fun.

Yes, but I’m getting sick of Channing Tatum getting killed in the first ten minutes.

Other than that, it was a spectacular shoot, fight, rappel, and sword fest.

Macramé?

LOL! I never tried macramé, thank goodness!

There is, however a strange, itty-bitty tangled web on my kitchen windowsill. It can only be
seen when the sun is shining through the window.

If anything, like a glass, or a can of spray cleaner, or a cooking utensil propped up to dry is
near the web, strands appear between the object and the web.

In a hundred years or so, our whole house will be full of itty bitty spiderwebs.

I think I saw a teeny weeny spider sitting in it, but I didn’t want to disturb the cute little thing,
so I’m not sure.

Y’know—I’ve always thought that the things I’d miss most about civilization were ice cubes and indoor plumbing. Now, I think I’d miss dairy products most. I don’t think I’d be very good at cow caretaking. However, there are a ton of folks around here who know everything about steers and cows. Gee....

Eek! If I had the courage, I’d come to your neighborhood and deliver some handmade goodies (have just perfected the custard cream filling for chocolate-glazed cream puffs or eclairs. However, your neighborhood scares me. (This is rather comical because I was a rough-tough street kid back in the day.) Sorry about the fruits. Our canteloupes aren’t doing all that well, but the Catawba grapes seem to be flourishing! Here’s hoping!

And what's wrong with the neighborhood here? Just because the neighbors have a language barrier that prevents rational dialog.. Seems that all they can say is 'Moooo..' and they process grass into milk and manure, both useful products though not necessarily in the same fashion.. ;-)

Along those lines, remember that if a cow gave milk that met the standard for 'whole' milk (you know - 3.5% butterfat) that cow would be renamed 'hamburger' by tomorrow..

Remember, we're 'upstate'. That's the description a resident of Gotham uses to describe any thing New York that is not in the five boroughs..

NC, I did not intend to cast aspersions on your neighborhood. I wish I could still cut it on the streets. Alas, I'm an old wreck without the necessary survival skills to make it any more within an urban environment. It would be fun to go back and test my survival skills. However, logistical entities would present themselves.

Be that as it may, I really like hearing the cows lowing!!
