A 10-year-old Brooklyn boy picked up a gun that was dropped by a would-be robber dressed as a delivery man and fired a shot, police said Tuesday. No injuries were reported.

Two men in disguise knocked on the door to the house at around 5:30 pm Monday, and two teenage sisters opened the door, police said.

Seriously?

The kid who picked the gun up and fired, scared the armed felons away, possible saved his siblings, himself, and his family's belongings...and HE, the child was sent off to Juevenile school?

These people are seriously mentally derangedd. The kid should have gotten big kudos and been given a medal and a free firearms course.

Yeah, the gun he picked up probably wasn’t registered and had more than 7 bullets in the clip. That’s it for him! Lock him up.

Easy there - I was just being facetious for effect.

If there’s any justice in the world, the kid’ll get a medal and a financial reward.

Don’t mind me - I’m a hopeless cynic.

How many homes are there where the children answer the door knock as a matter of course? I am afraid that this practice, normal 20 to 50 years ago, is no longer sensible.

It can be a bad person or the government (sorry for the redundancy) on the other side.

I heard about this story somewhere else. The gun wasn’t his family’s. One of the bad guys was trying to come into the room where he was. He slammed the door on the guy’s arm, causing the gun to drop. Then he opened fire. So, there’s nothing for the P.C. crowd to jump on here. Great kid.

Sorry for not recognizing the sarcasm. I realized after posting that you probably were. And I understand it.

This is a sick set of circumstance developing in our nation and I pray we can find the avenue...or be given it by God in HEaven...to reverse it.

Whatever the method...it is not going to be pretty, and will be costly.

true... but it is also good to have a big barking dog or a car in the driveway so would- be intruders don’ t think the house is empty... this happened to my sister and niece... the family had been out of town.. their first night back my sister and her daughter were alone... her hubby was still out of town... intruders must have thought they were still away.. they came into the house while my sis and her daughter ( who was in her parents’ room that night) were in bed... sis put niece out the window and onto the roof as she called police when she heard intruders coming up the stairs... when she heard them outside her locked bedroom door, she yelled out something, and the intruders took off running out of the house and into the woods across the street... when i lived alone, i always parked my car in the driveway... never wanted a burglar to break in while i was home...

Don’t carry a gun. It will only be used against you.

No problem; let’s just hope that the nation recovers its sanity and sense of balance.
