I turned it off when it got to the scene of Matt Damon sodomizing Michael Douglas.

No cable, wouldn’t have watched it anyway.
Shame Michael wasted what’s left of his life to do a movie like this.

Did anyone watch it? I would not even consider it. Gag me with a spoon.

Couldn’t do it. The previews were creepy enough. I remember when my parents used to watch him on tv. He was really good and quite a showman. Everyone knew he was gay, but no one made a big deal out of it like nowadays or pried into his personal life. I remember my mother talking about other screen stars that were gay, but again, no one made a big deal about them and didn’t delve into their private lives.

I watched Courage New Hampshire last night.
Its running all week at 8 pm eastern (I think) on INSP.
Its a great show about the early struggles of the colonists in the years leading up to the revolution. Andrew Breitbart even has a cameo role.
The White Pine act is one we would recognize today. An oppressive government declared it illegal to cut pine trees larger than 1 foot in diameter because Britain wanted them for ship building. It made it pretty hard to farm in wilderness when they couldn’t clear forest.

Liberace, who hid his homosexuality, would be horrified to see it’s now a matter of a movie and a discussion.
and ‘what is HBO’ ?

I can’t imagine that brought bigger ratings for HBO than if they had showed a new episode of ‘Game of Thrones”.
To: Red Badger
And just to have another Game of Thrones reference here. In that show, they would have been calling Liberace a “sword swallower”.... I heard that on an episode of Game of Thrones a few weeks ago and couldn’t stop laughing...

Didn't see it myself. But I've seen comments from some of the pro-gay crowd that they aren't to happy about it, because it doesn't paint a very flattering picture of Liberace or the gay lifestyle. From what I gather, the movie essentially portrayed Liberace as a sexual predator that seduced teen boys with drugs, alcohol and gifts.

Yes, and further confirmed what a sad and sick lifestyle choice. I couldn’t believe how they made up Rob Lowe to look like Michael Jackson.

I saw Damon and Douglas interviewed about the movie and really really felt uncomfortable with just the interview. Talking about who was the better kisser and whose wife taught them better and alluding to more intimate behavior in the filming. I don’t know if anyone can be that good of an actor. Just creepy and disturbing. Would never watch. And to think Jason Bourne has come to this!

What is this HBO you speak of?
To: Red Badger
Question: Did anyone watch the HBO movie "Behind the Candelabra"I cancelled HBO over 20 years ago.
When I was a little kid (1950s) and home sick from school, I'd watch Liberace's TV show.
It was very entertaining to say the least.
Note the lead story ...

No, fortunately I had a choice of either having a root canal or watch the movie.
The real tough decision was which drill to use, my Black and Decker or the DeWalt .........
