Hmmmm...who among the “Native Americans” used atlatls?
A whole bunch of them. The word itself is Nahuatl or Aztec.
I have no idea why they didn’t advance to the much more efficient bow. Massed archers could have put a real crimp into the Spanish conquest, though I suppose stone tips would have been ineffective against armor.
Quite a lot, actually, and it was still in use by some in post Colombian times.
