(COFFEYVILLE, Kan.)— A brand new baby was attacked by a pit bull in Coffeyville. Police say the dog severely injured the two day old girl. The pit bull belonged to her family.
She was initially taken to the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center with life threatening injuries. She was then transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita and is listed in stable condition.

If you click on the link to the original article one of the comments is from someone who spoke to the paramedic who id.d the dog as a Dobe. Now, of course the person could be making it up, but the fact that the media gets the i.d. so wrong so much of the time when it comes to dogs — well, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they just saw what they wanted to see and went from there. Sure wouldn’t be the first time.

And yes, the pit haters can’t be bothered with anything which contradicts what they want to see... and if the headline says it was a “pit”, why, then, that’s good enough for them! No need to look further because we all know how reliable the media is when it comes to fact checking!!! Just unbelievable.

I have to agree with you. Doing a lot of garage sales, ankle biters bother me more than larger dogs. I always ask if it bites, but have always felt comfortable about the large dog laying in the garage....if a dog approaches me, he gets to smell the back of my hand, no touchee until I get its OK Dogs usually give warning if you watch it....ankle biters don’t care....:O)
