Rattlesnake Logic

Now the news media will spend days trying to determine why these men did what they did in Boston. They will want to know what America did to make these brothers so angry with us. They will want to know why these men were not arrested before they did something unlawful. The media will be in a tizzy about the new era of home grown radicals and about how they could live among us and still hate us.

Here in west Texas, I have rattlesnakes on my place. I have killed a rattlesnake on the front porch. I have killed a rattlesnake on the back porch. I have killed rattlesnakes in the barn, in the shop and on the driveway. I kill every rattlesnake I encounter. I kill rattlesnakes because a rattlesnake will bite me and inflict me with poison. I don’t stop to wonder why a rattlesnake will bite me. It will bite me because it is a rattlesnake and that is what rattlesnakes do. I don’t try to reason with a rattlesnake…I just kill it.

I don’t try to get to know the rattlesnake better so that I can find a way to live with the rattlesnakes and convince them not to bite me . . . I just kill them. I don’t quiz a rattlesnake to see it I can find out where the other snakes are because (a) it won’t tell me (b) I already know that they live on my place. I just kill the rattlesnake and move on to the next one. I don’t look for ways that I might be able to change the rattlesnake to a non-poisonous rat snake. I just kill it.

Oh, and on occasion I kill a rat snake, because I thought it was a rattlesnake at the time. Also, I know that for every rattlesnake that I kill, two more lurk out there. In my lifetime I will never be able to rid my place of rattlesnakes. Do I fear them? No! Do I respect what they can do to me? Yes! And because of that respect I give them their fair justice . . . I kill them!

Maybe as a country we should give more credit to the jihadist just being a rattlesnake! Jihadists are pretty honest in telling us we are infidels and they must kill us. Why do we have such a hard time believing them?

Only one thing left out..a rattler will warn you before it stikes. A jihadist will not.

Excellent point, Berdie. I suppose jihadists can be better compared to cancer, which invades its host and simply destroys everything until the host is dead.

We have been warned for decades.

We have been warned for decades.

I was thinking that while typing. Radical Islam doesn't need to warn us. They've been destroying everything they touch for centuries. That's all the warning that any alert culture ought to need.

"The Prime Minister wants to stop extremist clerics using schools, colleges, prisons and mosques to spread their ‘poison’ and is to head a new Tackling Extremism and Radicalisation Task Force (TERFOR) made up of senior Ministers, MI5, police and moderate religious leaders.

The high-powered group will study a number of measures, including banning extremist clerics from being given public platforms to incite students, prisoners and other followers – and forcing mosque leaders to answer for ‘hate preachers’."

As long as this group is 'studying a number of measures', they'd better soberly confront the fact that these people don't respect anything but brute force, and that they won't be stopped by anything less than a full scale crackdown, which should include bringing everything their laws have to bear against them.

The British government and citizenry need to get a grip on the reality of the situation they face. They have a militant invasion force within their midst that is making war on them and their culture. It's time for them to stop tip-toeing around the truth, and heed the words of one of their most illustrious Prime Ministers:

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.

The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen; all know how to die; but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome."

- Sir Winston Churchill

....”The British government and citizenry need to get a grip on the reality of the situation they face. They have a militant invasion force within their midst that is making war on them and their culture”.....

Same here in the US....just hasn’t reached that height yet, but it’s coming! Fort Hood should have been the ultimate heads up ....but our politicians continue to gloss over every incident making it somethin else altogether.

We are surely going the same way as Britain....faster than most care to see...they continue to deny the obvious.

Thanks, Didn’t know that. Tried to look it up and what I found was that both had recorded “The Snake” AND “Poor Side of Town” which Rivers wrote...so I don’t know which came first. I know they are both great songs by great musicians, although I never heard Al Wilson’s version of either. I have heard many of his other music so I figure these two must have been good too...

Big difference here, is we can shoot back. The Brits can't.

Until his 2008 death Al Wilson used to regularly perform in a city near here as part of the "oldies" package put together by one of the radio stations.

For now....but as we see they are more than trying to disarm the public...and we already see laws protect the guilty...and ban the innocent.

Everythings being turned upside down.
