Why mess with a good thing? Michelle Obama is known for recycling her favorite outfits and there is one item she goes back to again and again: a bold wisteria print dress by designer Tracy Feith.
By our count, she's worn the dress (which cost about $720 retail) at least seven times since she debuted it on January 21, 2009, the day after President Barack Obama's inauguration, at a non-denominational prayer service held at the Washington National Cathedral followed by a luncheon. On Wednesday, she donned it again to visit the historic Decatur House.
While we mortals might shop our own closets every day, many figures in the public eye shun recycling their own clothing. Joanna Douglas, Yahoo! Shine's senior Fashion and Beauty editor has a theory, "FLOTUS is very practical when it comes to dressing. She packs light for vacation and rewears the same dresses within a very short period of time, unlike celebrities who are afraid to wear the same thing twice. I think women appreciate that she just digs into her closet like anyone else."

HUMMM do ya think Barry boy told her to recycle, as he may soon be out of a job...
sure hope so...
by the way what average American woman spends $720.00 on a dress???
I’m lucky to spend that in a year on myself...need to let the hubby know how much I save him yearly...
"RUUUNNNN..no no HIIIDDDEEE.....chit...think I bent a clavicle"
That’s my memory, too. But, OMG, it’s truly one of those pictures worth at least 1,000 words, especially since at the time she was using her soapbox to tell everyone else what they should eat.
Oh MAN, love me some MST3K!
Doesn't she know that it is extremely gauche to eat gelato at an Italian restaurant wearing the tablecloth?
Or as Carol Burnette said “It was just something I saw in a window...”
What happened to the boob belt?
I think I’m going to be sick.
Can't remember who the women on the left are, I suspect one is Carla Bruni? But my oh my... if there was ever someone who fit the moniker, ugly American, it would have to be Michelle-my belle.
You are right. The one in the middle is Sarkozy's wife Carla Bruni. The one on the far left, I believe, is a Spanish princess. And if that Spanish princess looks as good from the front as she does from the back, all I could say would be -- WOW!
No kidding...
Thank God she doesn’t wear bikinis.
I haven’t had anything new in years and have been mending a pair of jeans so long that I’m mending the mendings.
If she’s worn it seven times then each wearing cost her (cough, us taxpayers) a little over $100 each time. What a bargain! Not. The most expensive outfit I ever bought was a couple nice business suits but they were on sale for less than $100. After I quit work, we recycled them for my mother and then recycled them again for my daughter.
The Black Widow dress at the Immaculation is the one that made we realize we were in for a time of fashion assault - along with all the other assaults.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No Barf Alert? lol Sheesh that just ugly. Wow look at those 2 dudes in back of them. I suppose they are Secret Service folks. They sure don’t look happy being there guarding Bigfoot and the Usurper.
