By the end of next week we are suppose to be in the 80's.
By tradition our family always goes swimming on Memorial Day. I've swam in some darn cold water in years past, but I ain't going in the water this Memorial Day.
It's been cooler than normal here in Dallas - Ft Worth, too. Last year this time, we were already getting broiled alive. I think we saw mid 80s today, and overnight temps will be really comfortable.
I've read a lot of scientific articles recently that say we're likely entering a period of global cooling that could last thirty years or more, due to inactivity on the sun. Just a little cooler in the nation's hot spots will be welcome for all kinds of reasons, but colder areas of the country could experience brutally harsh winters that stretch right up to the summer months.
Heck, we might even see mass immigration from Canada if it gets much colder.
That made me smile... Thought of my Memere sharing similar stories back in her childhood... Connecticut .... 1910 to 1917. She would have opted not to swim.
