An atheist, Buckner believes that no religious literature should be provided in government-owned lodging, and he presented that concern to management at the Amicalola Falls State Park.
Officials told Buckner they would remove the Bibles from all state park resorts while the state attorney general looked into the matter. Not long afterward, however, the AG issued a ruling saying the state was on firm legal ground because it hadnt paid for the books. On Wednesday, Gov. Nathan Deal ordered the Bibles returned.
Deal argued that if the state didnt pay for them, it cant be seen as endorsing them. He also noted that any religious group can donate literature. But his action sparked a string of comments on social media and captured the attention of local news television stations. It also prompted some to question why this hasnt been more of an issue in the US before.
Buckner is pondering his next move. One idea he is considering is to test the states offer to accept literature from other religions in state-owned lodging. He also said he would be willing to participate if an organization with similar beliefs decides to launch a lawsuit over the issue.
When you go into a state park cabin and the only piece of religious literature there is a Protestant Bible, that suggests the governments endorsed that particular perspective

WRONG!! You are a lost soul and, because we love you, we are talking the time to explain a few things to you.
WRONG AGAIN! If you were one of my college Biology students I would count this answer as wrong. Gravity is a fact, is a LAW (from the scientific point of view).
“Gravity is a theory and a law.

Actually gravity can be referred to as a law and a theory. The law of gravity states what happens while the theory is why it happens. For gravity, we use Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity to explain why things fall.
You may know biology, but you flunked physics.
Just look at the definition of law and theory in any science textbook!
I would say your textbooks are way out of date. I stand my my statement that the law of gravity is what happens and the theory of gravity is why.
Actually Newton’s law of gravity formula has been shown to not stand up under extreme conditions in space, so I would say that even it does not qualify as an infallible law. It works ok for classical physics, but not so well if we want to study the whole universe from the sub particle to the far reaches of space.
The study of sub particle physics and string theory are bringing us closer to understanding what gravity really is, but they are still theories.
Whatever! You can keep your definition of theory and I will keep mine (actually not mine but that in our very current text book). Is the Physics definition different from the one used in Biology? That’s irrelevant to the theme of this thread, the placing of Bibles in state-owned cabins, and the argument with whattajoke. Unless, of course, you are purposely trying to change the subject!
I was not the one changing the subject. As I recall wattajoke mentioned in passing that gravity was a theory and you corrected him. I was simply coming to his defense. I can not speak to biology texts, but may ask my sister that I know is a PHD in microbiology ( now retired).
If you do in fact teach at a university I would suggest you ask someone in the physics department about the theory of gravity.
I really don’t care one whit where they put Bibles or Korans for that matter as I am free to ignore them. I do study the Koran some because I believe it is good to know your enemy. But I guess there I go changing the subject.
I am done here.
Have a nice evening.
It isn't enough that some leftists can kill their babies or pressure others to kill theirs too, the leftist must prevent anyone from offering information that could lead someone to keep their child or put it up for adoption.
It isn't enough for an Islamist to read his own Koran, he wants to make sure no one can read a Bible either, or a Hindu text.
It isn't enough that a certain atheist can read any atheistic text he wants, he wants to make sure no one else might read a Bible. In other words, his faith or lack thereof is not under seige at the hands of others at all- he is not playing a defensive game but an offensive one in that he makes a point of saying "Protestant Bible." Now if it was all just because he is an insecure atheist, then he wouldn't feel the need to be so specific about what kind of bible it is, or even that it is a Bible and not a Koran. By making a distinction he's giving a clue that he is motivated by something other than mere religion, for he is trying the Alinsky tactic of isolating a target- break it down to size. Class warfare of sorts, only with religious sects instead of economic class. Today his target is the Protestant Bible, tomorrow it will be any Bible, and the day after it will simply be any book of any sort he doesn't agree with- what difference does it make to a real atheist what kind of religious text it is?
50 years ago people needed God.... now they had an idolized government to worship.
Wow. Four Freepers private messaged you. I’ve had about that many secretly tell me to join Stormfront. Whoop de do.
Exactly. The more spoiled people become, the less they need God.
