Too bad George Lucas is hard, cold lefty.

Star Trek is the one with the right message: take risks, get along, do cool stuff. Put your life on the line for your friends. No greater love.

Star Wars seeks supernatural powers through discipline, ways to manipulate others. I liked Star Wars, the first three anyway -- and I even get the "feel the force" thing, and in a way believe it. The "greater love" thing in Star Wars is kind of moot because, as in the case of Obi Wan, laying down his life rang kind of hollow because he moved on to an even more powerful place and shows up on occasion to participate.

Star Trek was about meeting the future successfully, taking risks, being righteous. More conservative, to me.

Huh? Star Trek is about as far left as you could go. Save the Whales, no capitalism, etc etc. Star Wars had all those you listed for Star Trek..And Lucas was a moderate Republican until later in his career, he isnt as far left as Spielberg.
