I knew that the newspapers had changed, but wasn’t sure about anything else. Those soda can cases are colored all over, so I just feel uncomfortable about those.

Anyway, I have plenty of carboard with out them. I just take them to the recycling center.

You've probably used colored plastic cups to drink out of--it contained pigments. Any food container that is not clear and colorless contains pigments--the opaque varieties contain titanium dioxide.

Suit yourself, but it's best to operate from an informed position. The ink plants are governed by regulations--we had to have mouse traps outside the building and be rodent free for health reasons. They made me take down my finch feeder.

I'd be more concerned with consuming anything llkely to introduce free radicals into my system (rancidity, burnt foods/flavors) than pigments approved for use in food packaging in my mulch.

Remember, "natural" and "organic" are meaningless sales pitches. Molecules have no souls.

The food to worry about comes from China and 3rd world hellholes where human fecal matter is a concern--a good reason to grow your own. (Fertilizing with human waste is in fact very natural and very organic, but not a good idea.)
