Network Axes Fall Hard on Gay Characters

It's been a rough end to what started out as a record-breaking season for openly gay characters on the small screen.

The homosexual meme is about done to death, Hollywood feels they've already won that battle. Although the vast majority of the public still won't engage in that behavior, they've been cowed into silence when it happens in front of them.

Now it's on to new horizons (or new lows, depending on your point of view). Question is, what will be the new front on the war on morality? Incest? Bestiality? Necrophilia? Not quite yet, IMO. Something slightly less unsavory, yet still cutting-edge.

Multiamory? I guess that's what you call group relations without marriage. There are already shows with serial love affairs between characters - temporary liasons where the partners switch as time goes by. Likewise, there are ensemble shows where multiple characters interact as a group. They live communally, but without engaging in explicit sexual relations. A little script work and these partnerships become simultaneous and sexual - a group marriage without the paperwork.

Another possibility is to explore intergenerational love. I see a show with a cast of "cougars" who routinely score with barely-legal teens. There's friction, of course, because of missed communication between the older and younger lovers, and hilarity ensues...

There has never been a demand for gay characters unless they are comedic. I guarantee if you polled the public and asked what they want more of on tv gayness would rank near the bottom but of course Hollywood and media far too often are about what they want rather than what the consumers want. Most heterosexuals don’t want to watch gay love stories/kissing etc. I don’t mind gay characters provided they are relevant to the story rather than some kind of forced dynamic sanitized for public consumption.

I think it was maybe ten - fifteen years ago they had a special on about Gilligan's Island. One actor basically turned it into a gay issues soap box. The guy who played the professor I think had a gay offspring or something like that.

Funny thing, the recent most visible down-In-flames outer space soap opera failed immediately, and is not even mentioned: Stargate Universe. Homo suicide, among other things. A merciful death.

Interesting to note, if you click the link and read the whole article, is that despite this "axing" the rest of the articles is chirpy-wirpy about how "gay" characters are doing well and seeing them on TV is why support for "gay marriage' has increased so much. They don't want to face that fact that their propaganda is actually not working very well! Well, maybe now that people (skulls full of mush) won't see them so much, that supposed support will pop like a balloon. If there was so much support, then the networks wouldn't "axe" so many faggotry supporting TV shows.

Oh, and if everyone luvs "gayness" so much, why are Penney's sales failing and they are trying to lure back shoppers by groveling after firing Degenerate?

lol. I guess you can’t watch How I met your Mother anymore either. Don’t see the Star Trek Movie. The problem is between gay characters on TV and Movies and the actors and actress’ that pay straight who are gay, it is just so hard to keep up.....Hollywood is the land of fruit and nuts. They didn’t earn that reputation out of nothing.
