Today in show business news: NBC is cleaning house while CBS is adding more clutter, including a Robin Williams/Sarah Michelle Gellar show. Yes, you read that right.
More cancellation news from the Peacock as the network gets ready to present its new schedule to advertisers at next week's upfront presentation in New York. Yesterday it was Whitney and 1600 Penn, today it's Matthew Perry's freshman sitcom Go On and Brian Williams's weekly news magazine Rock Center. They are really cleaning house as they do yet another yearly overhaul, hoping that this is the one that works. This leaves The New Normal as the only freshman comedy to survive the 2012-2013 season. Yikes! Not a good year for NBC. But when is it a good year for NBC? I mean they have The Voice and that's a hit, but that's kind of it. Ah well. Better luck next year.

Woo-hoo! Could actual real family friendly program be on the horizon? Where the dad isn’t a bafoon?
NBC also cancelled The New Normal, Animal Practice, Smash, Guys With Kids, Up All Night and Deception along with ending The Office and 30 Rock.
Revolution is pretty good.
Law & Order used to be good then it became a vehicle to bash the Right.
NBC canned The new Normal. Which I bring up again because the article posted says it stayed. But NBC canned it anyways. Community barely managed to stay as did Dick Wolf’s Chicago Fire which was a show on the bubble.

It's sad I spend most of my tv viewing time scrolling through 100 channels and lamenting there's nothing to watch. When you do find something, it's all commercial and very little show. A 110 minute movie takes 3.5 hours to watch what with all the commercials. Enough already.
Deception, I used to watch then stopped when the focus of evil was big bad pharm co. Barf.
I only watch four shows and there all on CBS.
Me too. That is what I like about that show. I also watch NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and Hawaii Five-O; the last one still is not at level of the original.
ABC canned Malibu Country which had forced The Last Man Standing with Tim Allen to move nights as part of a ploy to help the show with Reba McEntire. But both the plot stunk and the show was unfunny and so it went bye. A lot of surprises though on the list of cancellations.
That dancing show on ABC was the only thing helping Body Of Proof and some other shows following it. Well Body of Proof started to sail south again in recent weeks with ratings so it was canned.

Elementary and Dr Who are the only two reasons to even turn the idiot thing on. Well, until footbal season.
“This leaves The New Normal as the only freshman comedy to survive the 2012-2013 season. “
is it because the show got good ratings?? or because the imperial president has ordered the show to remain on the air??
Movies and tv shows always bash corporations over government.
I could happily live out the entire rest of my life without ever seeing Robin Williams on any screen. I think he’s one of the most over rated comedians ever.
I’ve been TV free for over thirty years, networks and all. Imagine my wonderment when I finally got high speed internet service a couple of years ago. I can now watch shows like Game of Thrones and Vikings, and catch up on all the documentaries I missed.
Whitney: Not the absolute worst sitcom ever made.
1600 Penn: Pretty much the worst sitcom ever made. Would it have been too much to stick with current reality and make the First Family Black? I guess it would have.
Go On: Rather not. Between Friends and whatever Sorkin show he was on for a few weeks, does anybody really want more Matthew Perry?
Rock Center: My heart sank every time I heard Brian Williams's pompous voice telling us what must-miss stories he'd come up with this week. Maybe if his daughter hosted the show ...
Thank you. That was my take, as well.
Yep...the wife and I are hooked on Bluebloods...can’t beat Tom Selleck
Fri, 10pm was worth staying-up for.
