Is it possible that the Family Court System in Arizona and perhaps across the nation is broken? Lawyers get Judges involved who cannot or will not make a decision, who in turn appoint a Parenting coordinator, who brings in many other "professionals" to evaluate a small child. Then a Best Interest Attorney is also brought in and MORE evaluations begin. Money, money, money and a system that consumes your entire life and drains your bank accounts.
The end is when the kids are 18, 21 in some states.
Is the MIL the one wanting custody or is she doing it for her daughter?
First thing dad needs to throw in there is “What is the change in circumstance?” And then he needs to try to have it thrown out and not let it go any farther.
My son had already been through the divorce wringer when his friend faced it. Before any legal proceedings he had his friend sign over his pick-up to him and “sell” him anything that was worth anything and then when the divorce was over he gave it all back.
Lucky kids. Good on you.
I’d imagine a good opposing divorce attorney could convince a judge to look askance at such maneuvers, so it would be a very good idea to make certain that the transaction(s) could in no way appear irregular.
The MIL is a Mormon and I am now convinced that all she wanted was a grandchild.
The MIL just wants my son to disappear so she doesn’t have to share the child with him OR his family (us). She is obsessed with this. It’s like a cult with them. She is an extremely controling parent and the daughter works for the “company” and is totally controlled by the mom.
The MIL flat out told my son, her aim is to bankrupt him and they want full custody.
Change of Circumstance is a good idea. THANK YOU. Why oh why doesn’t his lawyer come up with that same answer? There are endless psychologists involved, fees, hearings, with no decision. Now a court case in a month. Breaking the bank here.
How do you go about getting endless court orders removed?
Parenting Coordinators have acted unethically, such as demand cash in advance, no checks, spoken with other court ordered Coordinator without HIPPA consent signed, etc. You just can’t make this stuff up! It’s a financial and emotional nightmare.
Aaahhhh yes, the femenazi’s. I love it when a gentleman opens a door for me. They are just angry man-hating nags.

I had some peripheral involvement with the AZ Family Court system; was decidedly unimpressed.

Yep, those women. It’s all about choice and money, as long as it’s their choice and your money.
The Rules are written to specifically protect the gravy train. That was my experience. Even when they broke the Court’s own orders, nothing happened. They were not happy when I called the Police for a well check during “the visit”.
That would be correct. Legal and Justice two separate ideas. In the end, didn’t resolve much and tens of thousands wasted.
Until I was forced into it, I had no idea how truly awful it is.
