At one time, it was popular for people to reload their own ammunition. In fact, at one time in American History, it was necessary.
It seems like this might be a hot topic for some people so that they can get enough ammunition for target practice, etc.
Obviously, those people who do not have ammunition, it would not solve their problems.
But if one could buy the brass casings, the bullets, and the gunpowder -- they could make their own ammunition.
Is this popular right now? Could someone hundreds of brass casings and bullets along with gunpowder, and keep themselves in good steed in terms of a supply of ammunition?
Is this a way to defeat the government buyout of ammunition?
That was true at one time; the policy was reversed several years ago.
Primers do hit the market, but they appear and disappear so quickly. You hafta be lucky. About the only thing to do now, is to find vendors that take backorder, and get in line. Another tactic is to get in line for email notifications. There is brass out there, and bullets, powder is spotty, and primers are to die for. Here again, the Rooshans are starting to fill in some of the gaps.
Another thing, the big retailers are getting some ammo, but limiting the amount that can be purchased (e.g., 100-200 rds), to keep ppl hittin their websites.

We re-loaders just can’t get supplies. I have plenty of brass of all caliber’s, and can’t reload.
Now when the re-loaders can’t get supplies - you know things are really bad.
The only dies I don’t have are .45ACP - and looking for months, I cannot find any dies either.
This is downright scary - especially for those of us who are used to being self-sufficient.
I believe it’s a sign of what’s ahead in many other areas. Areas where preppers think they are prepared for anything - but all will be caught in some areas they are not expecting.
I think no one saw this coming......reloader’s not able to get supplies.
I have to say that I saw something like this coming. Bought a furnace and molds even though (even as of now) I have no intention of actually casting bullets. Even bought backup die sets in case one set broke. Because during times like this you would be SOL if something broke. Last year and the year before, I spent about every dime of disposable income on guns ammo and reloading gear. I just had a “sense” something lime this was coming but the gun grabs surprised even me.
Good for you. I missed it on the reloading supplies.
“Reloading” is just final assembly of parts. That’s not the problem. Those who make primers, shells, powder, and bullets can’t make them fast enough.

CCI and WW in stock large pistol. In a pinch you can use large rifle and reduce the load a bit.

Mrs. Mad has a H&R 32 mag pistol she carries for Sd. I reload her practice wounds. I soaked up every bullet and primer I could in November 2012. Man I am one happy reloader!
