Interesting story of how they transported the Blackbird of Project OXCART, it was known that the A-12s would be built in the SkunkWorks within the Lockheed Plant complex in Burbank, California and that the A-12s would have to be transported overland to Area 51 for flight testing, development and training of the Project Pilots. Photo's and planning story

On a similar note, IIRC the Saturn rockets used for the Apollo missions could not be made today - the plans are lost. OTOH, a local company is working on fusion propulsion.

I saw that one make its final landing. The weather had to be perfect for it to make its landing on the short runway behind the museum.

At one time we could DO things like that - today we cant even keep highways in good repair. From a time when NO was not taken for an answer to any challenge, to a time when WE CANT is the answer to almost everything worth doing.Ergo my theorm that America peaked in 62' and after they took God out of the schools, Kennedy allowed Unionized State and Federal workers, and after his brother Teddy helped Fubar immigration in 65' or 66' it was all over....

One must make inept women and minorities look adept. I love the TV propaganda. I assume that you mean misandry in the media? -- Someone noticed it and made a series, of the same name, on youtube: link.
(He's up to 18 parts; and some of the observations he makes are spot on.)

Are you the one who looked inside the hanger while the Black Bird was being refuled and found yourself looking down the bore of a rifle? No, but that happened to me when I drove up to NORAD.

Isn’t that the truth? The Golden Gate Bridge was built in the 30s and is going strong. Today, CalTrans totally botched the new Bay Bridge span because the earthquake safety bolts are all embrittled with hydrogen. They don’t have a clue how to fix the partially-completed structure. What a mess we are in today.

I will admit that after Reagan's landslide second term election, I actually thought we were on our way back. Sometime after the election of clintoon, I realized it has all been an illusion.
September 11th was our generation's Pearl Harbor, and for a few brief months I thought perhaps we were about to channel the Greatest Generation and reclaim our way. But that didn't last long.
The 2nd American Revolution could solve our problems, but I'm afraid the only people that give a damm enough to fight it are growing older every day. Probably all the liberal scum side has to do to win, is wait.

Is that really a B-1B or is it the B-1A repainted? B1-B. Tail number 84-051.

It doesn’t. Trust me. LOL! SR’s never existed either. Until I saw one leave Patrick AFB in Cocoa Beach one day. They had to stop for some issue and my youngest and I were at the beach when she left. FRICKIN’ WOW!

I thought my wife & I were the only ones who have noticed this. It has been done one small baby step at a time, you know, progressively. Because us older types know what has happened and what we have lost the "power that be" want us shuffled of this mortal coil ASAP and that means ObamaCare.

The Saturn V F1 engines have been rebuilt by the Huntsville, Alabama, Rocket Rednecks using museum pieces and displays from around the country! They
test fired it back in January.
NASA is supposed to create a new jumbo rocket, the Space Launch System--SLS, built on these F1 engines.

I saw it inside a much more crowded display 2 1/2 decades ago.
