Interesting experiment. I didn’t quit the internet, but I’ve really scaled back on what I do here. If it weren’t for FreeRepublic I’d go days without logging on.
I went one summer with no computer in my house (and I don’t have a smart phone.) I’d walk to the library about twice a week and check my email, assure my mom via Facebook that I’m still alive, and that was about it. I did get an AWFUL LOT DONE. But it’s like dieting... even though I’m better off without it, I drifted back because it’s an easy, cheap, and pleasant time-waster.
