If we import those poachers, will they kill RINOs?

If so, let’s start the importing process.

Human life should always be valued over animals. Except in this case.

There ought to be big game hunting trips, with poachers as the game, available.

Sad indeed. And a good reminder that wealthy, Capitalist countries are better at preserving wildlife diversity than poor, Socialist countries (which is what Mozambique has been for most of its existence). Unlike what most environmentalists claim, the wealth generated by Capitalism results in people being less likely to make a living poaching, and to be more interested and have more wealth to donate to preserving animals like the rhino.

Just remember, it’s the Chinese commies that love them some rhino horns. And, now they have lots of money to pay the poachers.

Cheers

so basically they were killed for what is essentially the same material you have in your fingernails.

I am NOT a tree-hugger at all but this is sensleess idiocy and should be prohibitted.

But the problem is not on the SUPPLY end- that just makes it more scarce and more expensive. And rich people are often happy to spend money on useless crap to show they can.

The solution is to farm them, and let free enterprise solve it.

Countdown 3,2,1

“don’t believe it! it sounds like the global warming con! it’s a hippy-commie-muslim conspiracy to take our guns away!”

Yes, it’s incredibly sad. But expect lots of posts denying rhinoceros’s are in danger.

It will be the same here in our urban locales when their 3-to-4 day supply of subsistence has vanished and the EBT cards haven’t been charged. One big gluttonous pigfest followed by rampant violence, just for violence’s sake.

Note to self: when TSHTF, import poachers.

There are probably plenty of them living in zoos in the US.

There are more Black Buck Antelope in Texas than there are in their original homeland, maybe it's Pakistan. We have a herd of Black Bucks on our ranch and they are multiplying like rabbits.

Here's an article about de-horning white rhinos. Apparently, it does little to deter poaching. I didn't know they were nearly extinct once before.

"In 1895, there were only 20 to 50 animals alive in the wild.
Today, the population of white rhinos in southern Africa has grown to 17,500, with 750 more in captive breeding programs around the world, according to ARKive. I don't know how they got from 50 to 17,500, but it's a nice success story."

Don’t anyone mention that the rhinos are slaughtered so filthy old Chinese men can grind up their horns for aphrodesiacs.

Africa’s main fame and pride comes from it’s wildlife. You would think the govts would go to extreme and brutal lengths to maintain and protect it. The park rangers who helped these poachers were poorly paid. They need to pay them enough so they are living high on the hog,,,and they need many more of them. There are too few rangers and too many poachers. Not only that, but they should be paid a big bonus for every poacher they find and gun down.

I've seen a rhino in the wild...once,in Tanzania.A truly majestic...and scary...creature.Sad doesn't begin to describe this event.Ten bucks says it was Chinese interlopers who paid bribes to crooked officials for a mining license and on the weekends hunted game from helicopters. It's in Asia where rhino horns are believed to have medicinal properties after all.Asians are willing to pay serious cash for rhino horns.

We need to make RINOs extinct, not Rhinos.

who target rhinoceroses for their horns which are prized in Asia for their reputed aphrodisiac and cancer-curing properties.

What is left undsaid here is that the horns are also very highly prized among some Arabs who use them to make the handgrips for those curved knives elite men stuff into their belts.
