My husband bought me a 2012 VW Passat TDI (diesel) which I did not want. I was happy with my Infiniti. Now I love it. Best car I ever drove. We drove from Omaha to Colorado Spring (South end near Cheyenne Mountain) on one tank of gas with 75 miles left to go. We normally get 45-50 miles per gallon on the highway.
My husband has a 2010 (not sure of year) Honda Ridgeline and he built from scratch a 1929 Roadster (did not built the engine) and is working on a 1949 Fleetline. It’s all over his shop in pieces.
Yep .. here in Penn. too.

Currently we have a Honda CRV and a Honda Ridgeline.
I particularly like the Ridgeline. 84,000 miles and paid for this month. Still have two years and 36,000 miles left on the Honda warranty. A fantastic ride, have towed 7,000 pounds with it (over max, but just a short distance). Have towed lots of things with it, and I love the waterproof trunk!
Have on several occasions placed my sous vide machine in the trunk, driven to a destination with friends and at the appropriate time popped open the trunk and served perfectly cooked steaks - the trunk is a stealthy hiding place!
Grew up with:
Fords, Chryslers, Cadillac and Lincolns - thought they were crap - from a young age. Then we had a few Peugeot 504 wagons, a Rolls Royce sedan, a Jensen Interceptor, multiple Mercedes and BMW’s and an early Lamborghini Miura that had been rebuilt after it had burned (shared engine and gearbox sump - updated in the P400SV series). There were some others, but that’s the memorable list...
The imports were much better than the domestics.
I have only owned Honda automobiles my entire life, though (since this is not a motorcycle thread, that is for another day).
Honda makes quality cares which retain their value. I prefer only to go to a dealership for oil changes and scheduled maintenance, Honda does not disappoint and has earned my business.

95 Chevy 1500 4x4 full roller 383 stroker 480 hp.....10 mpg.
Rolled my 02 Venture van so I just replaced with 02 Mitshubishi Eclipes with 120,000 V6 in excellent condition that I purchased for 975.00 with a bad tranny,1200.00 for new tranny gets 30 mpg.

03 Hummer H2 - rattle trap, but not that bad of a ride...(and it really p!ssed of the tree huggers)

put the wife in a BMW wagon, she went through 2 Suburbans and is now on her 3rd X5...We both really love the X5's...and we know plenty of people who put them together...
My first car ever was an '81 626 coupe with the RX-7 alloys (the four-lug, four spoke ones).
It died in an on-campus garage fire while I was away on spring break. It was a great driver's car. I loved the fact that it was B-pillar-less so with the windows down and sunroof open, it offered a very open-air feeling.

Current: 2011 Toyota Tacoma & 2004 BMW 330xi
Past: (taking a deep breath) 1973 Triumph Spitfire, 1976 Toyota Corolla (came with my wife ;->), Toyota Celica GT, 1980 Toyota Pickup, Audi 4000, (?) Subaru Wagon, VW Golf GTI, VW Quantum, VW Passat, Jeep Cherokee, Chrysler/Dodge Caravan Mini-van, Mercury Villager, Lexus RX400h.
Then the BMW phase started: 530i, M3 convertible (E36), 330 convertible, M3 convertible (E46), 335i Coupe (E92) - plus the current 330xi (E46). AND, a couple of other Germans - an Audi A6 & a Mercedes E550 (briefly).
Of course, I’ve also have a small stable of cars for my daughters - an ‘01 Honda Civic EX, and an ‘03 Mini Cooper, an ‘04 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I’ve had to dust off my old mechanical skills with these - the Honda & Mini due to age and mileage, and the Jeep because, well it’s a Jeep (and American-made).
Despite the maintenance headaches, the Spitfire was the most fun to drive overall - just a pure feeling of car, driver, road. The Bimmer convertibles were next - particularly the last M I had - it had the (rare) SMG transmission and 330HP - THAT was a blast!
