How sweet it is !!!!!!!
.
End of an era. It was the best of times at its height and now its over. People are wondering what’s ahead now, what changes.
Good luck to the Bruins in the finals.
I wouldn't say that, necessarily. Crosby and Malkin are still in their 20's, and they have some young defensive prospects coming along that should arrive over the next couple of seasons. Goaltending needs to be addressed, and I think they need a bit more overall balance among the forward unit (which could be addressed through free agency). They'll still be a good team next season, and may even contend again if they can square away the goaltending (Ryan Miller?) and improve the defense a bit.
I think what will come next year will be very different. Hopefully there will be a new coach with a solid defensive system. That means a different type team.
I can’t see several players who’ve been there for years staying. LeTang, Fleury, Cooke, Dupuis etc are probably gone. I think all of the new acquires except Jokinen are gone.
The young defense in the minors are very heavy on puck movers. That’s because of Bylsma’s system. Also because of Bylsma there is a near total lack of forward prospects. Bennet is a good player but he doesn’t fit anywhere but Malkin’s left wing. Crosby is at present injured and those injuries are probably taking a permanent toll. He needs a decent line but he still has no suitable right wing and his left wing is long in the tooth. I guess I see serious growing pains ahead as the Pens attempt to redefine themselves.
The shock appears to be too much for an old Boston fan, as the Bruins' McQuaid nets a perfectly-placed shot
past Pens' G Tomas Vokoun to score the only goal of Game 4 to complete the sweep of Pittsburgh at TD Gardens.

Patrick Kane of the Blackhawks grabs a loose puck in front of the Kings' net and
hoists a shot over hapless G Jonathan Quick for a Chicago goal and a 2-0 lead
over Los Angeles at the 1st Intermission of elimination Game 5 in the Windy City.
LA Kings "Boston Miracle Moment"?
Incredible redirect by Richards in front of Crawford with less than 10 seconds left just inside the post
staves off the Kings' elimination and puts Game 5 into OT at 3-3 vs. the Hawks in Chicago...
Doneskies...Bring on the Bruins.
This is old school. Love it!

The Kings is Dead ... Long Live the Kane!
Hopefully, the forlorn Hawks fan behind the Chicago bench got a chance to change his pants
before Patrick "Hat-trick" Kane's 3rd in double-OT sealed the Series vs Los Angeles in 5 games.
A rare Original-6 Stanley Cup Finals with the Eastern champ Boston Bruins begins on Wednesday night...
Got a good one going tonight. Three all at the end of OT period one. Lotsa shots, lotsa hits. I’m pickin’ the Blackhawks to take The Cup in six and it won’t be easy.
This game is sick...Boston looks dead on their feet at times but the hawks can’t close it out. Great original 6 battle.
Finally! Hawks win at 7:52 of OT3. I go bed now.

I confess, I fell asleep during the 2nd OT intermission.
I’m a Bruins fan, but I went to bed at the end of 2OT. Too much work to do today.
If game 1 is any indication, this will be a good series.
Couldn’t catch more than a bit of OT b/c of work as well.
When it gets to this level, it usually comes down to the bounce of the puck. Good thing Game 2 has a second day of rest in between...
This game was an instant classic.
I dozed off a couple times during OT2 too - it was like a bunch of zombies skating out there but they perked up in OT3. It was almost like playing two games for those guys last night.
