Victoria Day, eh, in Ottawa...
That second period was a thing of beauty - most of it played at the Hawks’ end of the rink. I’m lovin’ it. The past two games were rough but nothing like the next one with three days of rest, it’ll be beyond brutal Thursday nite. Wings lead #1 Hawks two games to one - who’d a thunk it?
The new kids are getting it done! Go Wings!

To be perfectly frank, I’d rather see interconference playoffs from the get-go ... the current format is getting old & cheapens the regular season.
It could have been a tie game, which might have changed everything.
The Hawks’ only goal was scored as a result of not being penalized for boarding Franzen at the opposite end of the rink - that was a bad missed call but the Hawks got away with it. The final score could have been three zip but you don’t hear me whining about it.
The Wings are kickin’ the #1 NHL team’s ass and the Hawks are worried.
Well, besides the fact I’m not whining (I save that for Pens games) I hope they go 7 games. The more work, the more hits, the better for the Pens have in the Finals.
Whining ... chuckle. You actually used the words ‘Pens’ and ‘Finals’ in the same sentence. Your Pens GM must be frantically shopping for a decent goalie at any price from the teams already eliminated.
I'd say Shero already found a decent goalie. And say what you will, but having Fleury as your team's back up goalie is fine with me!

Thanks for the update, Airborne! Since my beloved Devils never made the playoffs, I have to pull for whatever team the Rangers are playing. I’m really liking that NY-Boston series right now!
Looking at the players in the game last night, there aren't many who aren't cut up or bruised.
It's been a battle between two heavy hitters - great hockey to watch!
Good point. Boston’s playoff experience (most of these guys are still there from the team that won the Cup in 2011) is starting to be a big factor.
Boston’s play is so reminiscent of the year when they won the Cup From the dramatic Game 7 Overtime win in the First Round, they became grittier as they went along in finally defeating Vancouver.
How Pittsburgh handles road Game 4 tonight in Ottawa after the surprising OT loss will be very telling for them going forward in these playoffs.
The Sens' Milan Michalek scores yet another shorthanded goal to open the scoring in Game 4
vs. the Pens in Ottawa. Pittsburgh holds a two games to one lead in the 2nd Round series.
