Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe, who has repeatedly spoken out in favor of same-sex marriage, says he now worries that his career with the team may be on the line. On Sunday, Kluwe said he is starting to sense that rumors surrounding whether or not he will be released from the team will soon become distractions. Its a shame that in a league with players given multiple second chances after arrests, including felony arrests, that speaking out on human rights has a chance of getting you cut, Kluwe told NBCs Pro Football Talk via text message.

I’m sure it has nothing to do with your performance, Chris.
Kudos Chris Kluwe. Well played.
Four time failures in the Super Bowl.
What “human right” is implicated in these crotch politics?
Kluwe-less kicker.
I think he’s come out in favor just so that he can’t be fired.
Yep, see here it comes. He runs his mouth and expects there to be no distractions. Had he just simply kept his damn mouth shut and thus his personal life kept personal, he wouldn’t have to play the harp now.
Vikings PHTT... :-| PACKERS 4-EVER!
Hahahahaha.... that was my first thought as well. The entire NFL will not be declaring support for gay marriage.
nope. he’s been this way for years.
some might even say he was born this way.
Here we go, pulling the gay card.
Wa-wa-wa! Load of crap! He hears rumors because he might suck! An NFL team wants to win, and if you’re good they will keep you if they can.
Hey, if he get’s cut he can always try out for the Lingerie League.
I was going to post what you posted. All people who have a job should know that not everyone cares or needs to know what you think about political issues.
I hope they have the guts to fire this guy just because his brains are already scrambled.
But, I agree with others, he is using this ploy to try to keep his job. He is nasty little manipulator.
Isn’t affirmative action wonderful?
Pray for America to Wake Up
LOL. I bet this outburst has nothing to do with the fact the vikings drafted a punter in the 5th round. That’s a very early pick to be taking a punter. Sounds like it was an area of need.
He spoke up during the statewide debate over legalizing gay marriage. There was an amendment on the Minnesota ballot.
It became a distraction to the team. He made a statement about not obeying his coaches if they asked him to stop. The Vikings used a 5th round draft pick this last weekend. The first used on a kicker. A good sign he is already gone.
Just a formality of watching the new punter during mini-camp.
I thought all gay football players were either tightends or wide receivers.
The NFL is extremely gay, and extremely gay friendly, as is everything in/around the NFL like ESPN, Sports Illustrated, etc., etc., etc.. This line of reasoning makes no sense....so you are doubtless right. This is his gambit to hang on to his job.
