For them or against them, theres really no disputing the facts. Pipelines are the safest transportation option for energy goods. And KeystoneXL is no exception.
Critics of the KeystoneXL pipeline obscure the fact that pipelines are, statistically speaking, clearly the safest means of transporting needed resources from Point A to Point B. Pipelines transport more resources and do so with a lower rate of incident than any other method, from truck to rail to barge.
Our pipeline infrastructures ability to transport the resources that our economy requires is unmatched. Rejection of state-of-the-art projects like KeystoneXL would represent a badly missed opportunity to strengthen this infrastructure even further. Modernizing our pipeline network will make the flow of resources an even safer process for the future meeting our energy needs in the safest manner possible.
The facts of the matter are simple. Rejection of the KeystoneXL pipeline will necessarily drive resource transportation to other methods that are far inferior to pipeline from safety, reliability, and efficiency standpoints. Train or truck, the reality is the same: nothing matches the statistical safety of pipeline transportation in transporting energy.
When rhetoric is removed from the equation and the focus returns to facts and statistics, the case for approval of KeystoneXL and other infrastructure projects that keep our economy vibrant is clear.
As always, follow the money.
Pipelines >> evil capitalist oil men
Railroads >> Baraqqi symps Warren Buffet and General Electric
I actually prefer those big scary tanker trucks. But hey, that’s what I do.
