(Newser) The Watertown man whose boat was destroyed after Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was found hiding in it is touched that people are raising funds to buy him a new onebut he wants them to save their money for bomb victims. "It makes me feel wonderful that people are thinking like that," but "I don't want that really," Dave Henneberry tells WCVB. "I would wish that they donate it to the One Fund Boston. They lost limbs. I lost a boat."
Henneberry says his obsession with the boat, Slip Away II, led him to inspect it when the "shelter-in-place" order was lifted during the manhunt. He says that after he climbed a ladder and spotted Tsarnaev, "I didn't waste any time. I didn't ask him if he wanted a cup of coffee. I was off that ladder. That is all I remember" before calling 911. The boat is now a blood-stained, bullet-riddled messand police evidence. "Slip Away is slipping away. But I say it did its job," he says. "It held a bad guy and is going away like a Viking ship." (Meanwhile, Tsarnaev has opened up about the motivation for the attacks.)

Very cool.
As for a beer, I would offer him one (Thou not while boating...drunk boating is more dangerous then Drunk driving!)
Boat = a hole in the water in which you put money.
A bayliner?? No, a Chaparral!! (a Bayliner is a Chevy, a Chaparral is a Caddy!)
He is NOT going to get off for this reason. The most they can do is have his comments made during this period ruled inadmissible. It appears highly likely there is a great deal more other evidence than necessary to convict him. We don't need a confession.
Being primarily a canoe sorta guy, I did remember seeing that brand name somewhere so bayliner it was !
Terrorism by the police? They are the ones tossing in the grenades and shooting the crap out of the hull, even with all that they still missed Tsarnaev...

About 20-30 years ago, a old car was hit by a meteor outside a house in Peekskill, NY. IIRC, it sold for over $250k
One of the first questions from a reporter after his capture was if he had been marandized and it has come up several times since...If you don't think one or more lawyers represnting him isn't going to make that an issue you are way too naive.

The second happiest day in a boat owners life is when he buys his first boat. The happiest day is when he sells it. COPS SHOOT 5000 ROUNDS INTO IT WHILE TAKING OUT A MUZZIE TERRORIST.
I’m afraid I don’t understand your concerns. The entire point of the Miranda warning is to make sure statements made by the accused to cops will be admissible as evidence in court.
I have never seen any claim by anyone that evidence acquired by other means is inadmissible if the Miranda warning is not given. If you have proof of this, I’d sure like to see it.
It gets better. The insider report on the radio this morning is that no gun was found. So the oh-so-brave cops spent a hour shooting the crap out of him and missed. If it was me I would darn sure want money for my boat. Of course if it was me I would have had a gun when I checked it the first time and the cops would have only had a body to pick up.
