Friday, April 19, 2013, during a manhunt for a bombing suspect, police and federal agents spent the day storming people's homes and performing illegal searches. While it was unclear initially if the home searches were voluntary, it is now crystal clear that they were absolutely NOT voluntary. Police were filmed ripping people from their homes at gunpoint, marching the residents out with their hands raised in submission, and then storming the homes to perform their illegal searches.
This was part of a larger operation that involved total lockdown of the suburban neighbor to Boston. Roads were barricaded and vehicle traffic was prohibited. A No-Fly Zone was declared over the town. People were "ordered" to stay indoors. Businesses were told not to open. National Guard soldiers helped with the lockdown, and were photographed checking IDs of pedestrians on the streets. All the while, police were performing these disgusting house-to-house searches.
Was there martial law? Were people restricted from leaving there homes under penalty of law? Yes or no?
Then you should be able to provide evidence supporting your choice.
Thanks! No relation to Laz, but definitely appreciate his wit and commentary.
I like that phrase, never heard it before. Now, it's mine. thanks!
GFY, you don't belong on this forum.
Why did you overlook my questions and instead come back with more of your drama questions?
Says palm licker for the Ruling Class who shilled for their Candidate and threatened anyone who refused to vote for him.
And as usual, you are projecting.
Statists like yourself don’t belong in a Free Republic - they always work to enslave it.
Your questions were irrelevant. There wasn’t martial law and people were not restricted to their homes under penalty of law, were they?
People were ASKED to stay indoors during the lockdown, drama queen.
A drama queen doesn't get to decide what my questions are. Admit it - you can't answer them.
Now, go shovel and make yourself useful.
Clearly you are. A rather unintelligent one to boot.
i hate the gov and the media
It gets around that icky Posse Commitatus.
Wrong. The ACLU would be on the case if these illegal searches had resulted in evidence against anyone involved in a crime (including the terrorist himself). Otherwise they don't care. You need to read up on exclusionary legal cases and the ACLU.
If there is any chance the ACLU can make headlines or money, they'll jump on it.
The ACLU likewise will not stand up for the individual (innocent) homeowners whose rights were violated in this case mostly because they are too busy arguing for "fair sentences" and other criminal-coddling liberalism.
OK, “from surrounding towns” which means the surrounding towns do not have adequate police. It is an illusion, we cant have a police state here unless FedGov adds millions of police/army personnel. It is a numbers game. The Romans did it through fear, they would devastate a village to prove a point. They NEVER had enough troops for police state in any country they occupied.
Only if it was in the Black section of town.
The worst terrorists are the ones in government. But you knew that.
Always has been as far as I know. Everything I've read indicates that law enforcement was not coddling the criminal they finally captured.
Family? I was amazed at how many men came out of that house, but just one woman. It was like a magician pulling rabbits out of a hat.
