Friday, April 19, 2013, during a manhunt for a bombing suspect, police and federal agents spent the day storming people's homes and performing illegal searches. While it was unclear initially if the home searches were voluntary, it is now crystal clear that they were absolutely NOT voluntary. Police were filmed ripping people from their homes at gunpoint, marching the residents out with their hands raised in submission, and then storming the homes to perform their illegal searches.
This was part of a larger operation that involved total lockdown of the suburban neighbor to Boston. Roads were barricaded and vehicle traffic was prohibited. A No-Fly Zone was declared over the town. People were "ordered" to stay indoors. Businesses were told not to open. National Guard soldiers helped with the lockdown, and were photographed checking IDs of pedestrians on the streets. All the while, police were performing these disgusting house-to-house searches.
Oh, I doubt lawyers were much involved. More like “we’re gonna find that f***** and kill him, send in everything we’ve got and let the lawyers sort it out later.” Tie it up in courts forever and shop for sympathetic judges. With the Supreme Court ruling as it did in _Raich_, pretty much any verdict desired can be achieved. If “immediate threat” applies on Watertown’s scale, Chicago could be put under permanent martial law to tomorrow. If the DC Sniper case didn’t warrant shutting down the entire city and taking every single gun by door to door search, then Watertown didn’t warrant its shutdown either.
And that’s part of the problem, soldier. You couldn’t raise a posse in Boston today that could fight its way out of a paper bag. What more suitable place for something like this to go down than Sheeple City?
Well, then give me some links to the cases that are being filed by citizens of Watertown against the police. Surely there must be some if the citizenry was so abused by jackbooted thugs and “terrorists in uniforms.”

I did not spend over 30 years of my life directly fighting the Cold War and Communists, helping recover the dead bodies of warriors I knew who died fighting the Cold War, to allow a bunch of civilian hacks in combat gear push their pseudo-authority over FREE and SOVEREIGN citizens at gun point.
I saw that same crap happen in the Soviet Union.

It’s not “pseudo-authority,” it’s real authority. If you don’t like it, change the laws. But don’t forget that those men in uniform are doing exactly what you say you were doing for thirty years. Protecting the lives of the people. Boiled down, that’s why we have government. So, whatever your alternate plan is, please make it accord with the reality of the world we live in.

What laws allow this? Absolutely everything you brought up justifying this abomination has been thoroughly discredited in this thread.

Being dragged out of my house with an assault rifle in my face and proned out on the ground isn't my idea of protection. This was not the vision of the Founding Fathers either.
