With its voodoo rites and perambulating zombie, I Walked With a Zombie probably will please a lot of people. But to this spectator, at least, it proved to be a dull, disgusting exaggeration of an unhealthy, abnormal concept of life. If the Hays office feels it has a duty to protect the morals of movie-goers by protesting the use of such expressions as hell and damn in purposeful dramas like In Which We Serve and We Are the Marines, then how much more important is its duty to safeguard the youth of the land from the sort of stuff and nonsense that their minds will absorb from viewing I walked With a Zombie??? With that attitude T.M.P. will never see his full name on the byline. Fortunately, zombies dont suffer from such intolerance in these more enlightened days.
I Walked With a Zombie is available on DVD from Netflix. Mrs. Homer and I viewed the movie Saturday and decided its major weakness is that it doesnt do enough to explain zombie-hood, or the nature of zombies, to the audience. This is not exactly zombie apocalypse. There is only one for sure zombie and one guy who might be a zombie but might just be hitting the West Indies ganja a little too hard. We are not told for sure. I am a zombie neophyte, but I expected the undead to appear a little more worse-for-wear than these examples. The lady zombie, who spends most of the movie wandering around in her nightie, looks to be in pretty good shape. Hot, even, though the Hays office is not so derelict as to allow anything of a corrupting nature to escape the editors scissors.

I Walked With a Zombie
I always find it odd when a conservative marries or seriously dates a hard leftist... wait... a movie? Never mind.

I WALK WITH A ZOMBIE
My favorite zombie movie, followed by WHITE ZOMBIE.
I’ve got lots of old zombie movies from the 1940s and ‘50s on DVD.
Favorite modern Zombie movies...CEMETERY MAN and DEAD ALIVE.
