Some passengers headed to Los Angeles International Airport were met with long delays on the first day of staffing cuts for air traffic controllers resulting from government spending reductions.
The Federal Aviation administration said on its website late Sunday that a traffic management program was causing delays averaging more than three hours for flights arriving at LAX, reports CBS L.A. station KCBS-TV.
The agency did not say how many flights were affected.

No this is a planned attack by Obama to make Americans suffer because we called his bluff.
Bring in the military air controllers. They are sitting idle at Air Force bases because of the phantom cuts.
Although your idea would work, it is not a p[roblem of not enough controllers it is a problem of Obama deliberately harming America by picking and choosing the things that will give us pain to blame on the sequester.
4% cuts cannot hurt us this badly without a deliberate attack on us.
He won’t stop until he gets executive order 10-289 in place.
Agree with this nutball in the Whitehouse, he is having a temper tantrum because the GOP refused to try and kick the football Lucy was holding.
Smaller airport controllers could have been furlough if it was really necessary.
Hopefully no accidents will occur during his temper tantrum because if there are he should be held responsible for it but he won’t be held accountable for anything. Can’t even get him for the deaths of the Bengazi deaths.
