There could be other theories also. This may not not be the only one. A double cross could be part of the whole story. The two bombers were just minor players and they got exposed. There were many people there that day with backpacks. The liberal media was trying hard to point attention to a white bomber. Maybe the real bombers got exposed and the fall guy got missed due to too exposure.

The elder went part time to a local, inner-city community college for a bit, and the younger got a fairly standard city of Cambridge scholarship upon graduating from its public high school and heading to a second-tier four-year state college down in Dartmouth, MA—not in Cambridge at all.
It’s hard to trust the additional claims in this story, given how off base they were on these simple and readily debunked ones.

In the whole terrorist vs. counter-intelligence bit there is a long history of players who were of unsure ultimate loyalties, perhaps often even to themselves.
For 50 years or so the Russian radicals and the tsarist intelligence agencies played this game. One of the ways some of the radicals financed their activities was to also become, or appear to become a double agent for the cops. Stalin was rumored to have been one that did so.
Of course, in such a case it can get really difficult to figure out which side a person is REALLY on, assuming the term has any meaning at all.

I have one problem with this theory - well at least one. If this were true it would have been a very simple matter to make sure that the younger one was not taken alive. I was betting that he would be killed last night yet he wasn’t.

If the younger brother was given the $2500 scholarship at the older brother’s insistence, why just $2500? Why not a full boat scholarship?

I’ve been giving Debka a pass recently but this is beyond ridiculous. What a bunch of hooey. They have hit rock bottom.
If we were serious about fighting Islamic terrorism, we would tell the Saudis to spread the word among their people, that ANYBODY who helps finance jihad will be hunted down and killed by our forces, and we will NOT CARE how prominent or "connected" that person is in Saudi society. And if the Saudis interfere, that we will give the Saudi royal family the same treatment we gave to Sadaam.
