Fox news has their medical guy on a little segment a few minutes ago, "on the couch", I guess it was Saturday morning fox and friends.
The guy's big advice for everyone:
a) Think of the "positives". What does he list as the positives ? The surgeons, the government's first responders, the police, etc. He says to focus on the heroics of people working for the medical community and the government. Not once did he say anything about individual citizens who were not part of the machinery of state. His comments suggest that everyone should be cheering on the implementers of the city-wide Boston lockdown, where civilians were ordered off the streets.
b) Get back to normal. Go on about your business.
Now, is that not propaganda aimed at exactly what I spoke of in my post yesterday, or what ?
Tinfoil is all I hear, tinfoil, tinfoil.
But somehow when you get into the details of every script on TV, whether it's news, entertainment or the mixture we so often see, it's all subtly marching everyone in the direction of obedience to the police state.
I hear a lot of people cheering on the police state, often the same people who say how stupid the pre-WWII German public was for accepting a police state.
Ok, back to business, nothing to see here.
True dat. And it’s why we must resist any and all attempts to disarm us.
Was a state of emergency ever declared? Were orders issued to the general public regarding their comings and goings? All I ever heard was requests being made to stay indoors. Was anyone arrested for being outdoors when asked not to be?
I can't believe they're carding Dr. House!
Sure looks like him, doesn’t it?
The irony is amazing, that it was only AFTER the lockdown was lifted, and civilians were allowed out of their houses, that a civilian went into his backyard, saw the blood on the boat tarp, and called the police. The 19 year old was hiding in the boat all day long, unseen by all of those police occupying the streets and flying the skies in choppers.
The point being, 10,000 cops can’t possibly find a well-known needle in a haystack as well as 7 MILLION Bostonians.
You’re right of course, Travis. I was looking at it from the point that there could be hundreds more explosive devices planted around the city that had yet to be found and detonated, so there was a possibility that many more could be hurt.
let him die in the hospital....or send him to Gitmo and waterboard him....
Yep. A decade and a couple of 60 minutes/20-20 interviews from now, this little terror turd will still be thieving oxygen and space on Americans' dime.
Not a chance, IMHO. These pressure cooker devices were strictly amateur and low tech. If we lock down large cities for episodes like this, we are announcing our utter weakness and fear to potential jihadists everywhere. Like a lady leaping onto a table because of a mouse. It just announces our fear, and our LE’s eagerness to clamp down with virtual martial law. What a bang for the buck, for loser low-echelon jihadists! This was about 1% of a Beslan or a Mumbai, and we acted like it was an alien invasion.
