My family lived in Oak Park from 1911 until 2008 (4 generations).
It went utterly liberal somewhere in the 1980s, from what had
been a bastion of large Christian families since the end of WWII.
This protest by the heroic Scheidlers will not be well-received.
How times have changed.
A block from there was the Brinkerhoff Drug Store, and in about
1963, they put a Playboy out in the rack with the other
magazines. Sister Lois, principal of our Ascension School a
couple of blocks from there, announced this over the PA, and
the great outcry by the community soon had that flesh mag wrapped
in brown paper and only available for those who went to the rear to ask for it.
