IIRC, the Smallville TV series debuted right after 9-11-2001.

Perhaps Superman does appear just when we need him.

I remember Superman II with Terence Stamp and Sarah Douglas as the Villains, these new villain do not look “scary”, they look like rejects from an Iron Man movie.

Yikes. I know translating from comic book to movie involves some toning the down of the colors and sharpening of the edges but that screams "pale man with bad haircut in dark costume". I'd still stick as close to classic as possible.

The key question: Does Superman fight for “Truth, Justice, and the American way”? If they’ve dropped that detail that he’s American and not some citizen of one world government, I don’t want to see it.

I am a comic book girl, and will not see this based on the trailer. Jonathan Kent says that superman should have let a busload of children drown rather than reveal his powers. Um, no.

I liked the scene where Pa Kent says, “You are my son.” It really tugged at my heart strings.

I love these movies, love Superman but I watch this and say, man do they really need to redo the whole Jor-El and Papa Kent story?

How many movies are going to retell them sending him to earth and why, and what Papa Kent says that he has a purpose? Don’t people get bored watching this again and again?

I guess for younger people they have never seen this story line? But we do have dvd’s now.

I love that Amy Adams is Lois Lane, even though she’s a little old for the part.
