Despite fierce controversy, existing physician-assisted suicide or death with dignity programs in the United States appear to be well-accepted by patients and clinicians, according to a report published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
In their report, lead author Elizabeth Trice Loggers, MD, PhD, medical director of palliative care at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, and colleagues explain that Washington's program "allows patients with cancer who wish to consider this option to do so within the context of their ongoing care." Guidelines in Washingtonone of three states to allow some form of physician-assisted suicidealso accommodate variation in clinicians' willingness to participate, noted Medscape Today.

Planned Parenthood/Gosnellcare to Obamacare/Death Panels/Kevorkiancare.
The more progressive our politics become the more death centered we become.
The Culture of Death promoted by Democrats is winning.
Obamacare will see to it that the old, the sick, and the infirm are dealt with accordingly.
The whole problem with this “right to die” physician-assisted suicide mess is that it’s not about your right to die. No one can force you to live. What our society is discussing here is a right to force a medical professional to kill you.
That’s not a right.
With PP/Gosnellcare it’s not even the infirm.
With end of life, even to turn off the agony of cancer, it’s not only forcing a Doctor to kill someone, it’s making everybody else pay for it through Govt. Healthcare/Deathcare programs.
Just like gun control, it’s not about guns, it’s about control.
To be followed by a “growing acceptance of euthanasia,” followed by acceptance of elderly patients’ “duty to die.”
So what... if the majority of people said that all journalistas in America must be slautered... would you enemedia types still promote it? Idiots!
“Consensus is the lack or leadership”
Lady Margaret Thatcher
Tieing two issues together. The left especially seems to like the idea of suicide being legal, and of physician-assisted suicide being acceptable.
And the number one cause of gun deaths in this country is suicide. In fact, the suicide numbers are what make it look like we have a big problem with guns. And the left argues that since guns used for suicide are often guns that were in homes for protection, that guns for home protection are a bad idea.
So, isn’t this quite illogical? To be FOR legalization of suicide, but also against guns because they are used for suicide?
Actually, most people don’t really have a problem with the idea that, if they really wanted to die, they might be able to get help.
What most people are scared about is that, once it is legal for a doctor or nurse to “help you die”, that the doctors and nurses will start killing you because your life isn’t worthwhile, and will then SAY you wanted to die.
By making suicide illegal, it prevents doctors from being able to kill you and get away with it.
In practice, if a spouse kills their partner, and it looks like that was the desire of the partner, “the law” tends to look the other way, or administer minor punishment.
The generation that aborted their own children, will be aborted by the survivors.
Absolutely. And if we place government in charge of life/death decisions, then the decisions are made regardless of the individual or family’s desires.
