Security cam captures a accident. A Toyota Highlander on it's way to pick up kids for school lost control and crashed into a home two times before spinning out into the street. The driver claimed that the accelerator was stuck and they couldn't stop the car.

I saw the backup lights come on twice; once prior to each time the vehicle backed up. Unless the car had the electronic software equivalent of a “crash”, I don’t know how this could happen w/o driver intervention. If this is a newer vehicle, the vehicle data recorder will tell the tale.

The only runaway I had was my 1977 Mercedes 450SE. After I got the car stopped I unbent the throttle linkage & was on my way.
