The Chinese stole it and the Russians have already hacked it.
I posted this on the TGO Thread last evening, but thought it should get wider notice on this MS-hosed file.
I deleted mine easily, and it’d caused no problems on any of my 2 HP desktops or HP laptop. After running clean-up and disk optimization, it ‘seems’ to run a tad faster. YMMV.
Microsoft’s instructions start with insert the Windows installation disk. Why didn’t they give equal billing to the F8 option since many, if not most PCs, no longer ship with an install disk? Also, when the fix is released, will it be on automatic and what effect will that have on machines where the patch has not been removed?
Just things to think about.

Question: I have the same update (KB2823324) but I am on Windows Vista. Since the knowledge article only lists versions of Windows 7 and Windows server, do I need to uninstall this update? (My computer has been rebooting normally since the patch.)
I went to an earlier restore point and everything worked fine. Win7 updated last night (Friday). That update was probably their fix.
Any chance they can patch Windows 8 into Windows 7?
Terrible news for my company laptop.
A laughing matter for my home PCs running Linux.
“reported incidents of the “blue screen of death”
That’s different.....how?
Ouch!
