Any class except for baseball is pretty well gone.
I suggest that high school sports is just about the only reasonably pure athletic competition left today. And, I’m not sure about that.
Human animals will do whatever it takes to finish in the money. Rules are merely obstacles to work around.
There’s too much money/show biz in college and professional sports for it to be otherwise.
For example, the story came out yesterday about Tyrann Mathieu (aka Honey Badger) failing “too many to count” drug tests at LSU while he was there.
The story isn’t that he was a doper. The story is how in the hell LSU managed to keep it covered up for so long.
After all, he was a money draw, a star, a TV personality.
Steroid ball may be the most corrupt sport of all.
