Did someone say Transmorgrifier?
To: Slings and Arrows
I lost interest in comic strips years ago when Calvin and Hobbes ceased publication.
I have the complete works of C&H. I only read it once a year or two as once you start you can't stop!
I love his dad telling him how everything was black and white before the 1940s, and this one.
To: Larry Lucido
Pretty good (anyone catch those C&H in the real world pix?), but the next thing you know, Hollywood will make a movie about a kid whose teddy bear talks and now that he’s an adult he’s still with him, foul-mouthed; horny; sounds like Peter Griffin ...oh wait they did...

Watterson did such a good job of showing how children wrestle with complex ideas. ![](http://bestofcalvinandhobbes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/raccoon1.jpg)

Indeed I do. Also; “Pickles”, “Baby Blues”, “Mutts” and “Get Fuzzy”. After that I read the Cesspool’s editorial page and try to determine which was more comical.

The transmogrifier series had me laughing for hours when I read it.
It still brings a smile to my face when it's even mentioned. Best comic riff ever.
I met Watterson's elementary school principle from Ohio, he was a dead ringer for the guy in the comic strip.

(This is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire; or both)

Popeye hated the Transmogrifier.
