Most overrated music oligarchs: Jerry Wexler and Ahmet Ertegun.

There was an anecdote about Jerry in, I think, Friday’s article in the WSJ about the Rascals, who are having a reunion on TV (Felix is 70!), and how he refused at first to release “Groovin” as a single, saying, “you’re a rock and roll band, WTF are these Latin bongos doing there?”, and Murray the K had to intervene and persuade him.

I do completely agree with the fact that Clapton doesn’t feel the need to Van Halen & Vai out on songs—thank goodness! But he just in my mind is no better than many thousands of others, and I like creative genius—I just don’t believe he has that. But I do realize I’m in not the majority with that opinion.

Just out of curiosity, are you a musician? I was a drummer at one time.

Oh Man! I just discovered you reply. That is hilarious! I could send that to my friend (who is a global warming Odmama supporter) and end our lifelong friendship forever. But, it's not worth that. It is just fun to have some laughs with folks like you.
