There are a lot of lousy musicians that are a lot more popular than they deserve, but in you opinion, who are the three most over rated musicians (or groups) of all time?
I love Bette Midler. ‘The Rose’ is a beautiful song but it always makes me cry.
He was one of the opening acts for the Stones in 1980 at the LA Coliseum and he was, literally, booed off the stage. I think I booed the loudest.
So do I.
Bruce Springsteen
All “boy bands”
Britney Spears
Celine Dion (reminds me a a past psycho girlfriend)
Ke$ha (I just wanna party party party and get drunk drunk drunk)
Yanni
Madonna
the Bee Gees when they went disco
Styx
Tiesto, and anyone like him
Elton John
After hearing any of the above, I need to clean my ears out with death metal. Or Motorhead. Or the Supersuckers.
I’m going to start counting the “Dylan can’t sing” posts of the discoverers of musical secrets!
Desi Arnaz. What an awful voice this guy had. A brilliant businessman but a lousy singer.
Queen
The Beatles were actually underrated on this song because although it's a great tune, it wasn't a hit.
The Girl That I Love--the Beatles
You are kidding...right?
NEVER cared for the Beatles.
Wasn't that the band Paul McCartney was in, before he was in Wings?
I agree about Sinatra. How anyone could think he’s overrated is incredible. He was always selected by his peers as an artist of the very top chop. In my book he was the greatest crooner ever. The only people who even come close would be Patsy Cline, Matt Monro, and a much younger Tony Bennett. Check out the Chairman in the link below at the top of his game. Believe me, Sinatra could sing a semicolon!

Amen - Springsteen’s music is dull and plodding.
As to his “message,” Springsteen fancies himself a modern day John Steinbeck or Woody Guthrie, which in fact just makes him seem ridiculous

Whoever said Led Zeppelin should be shot.
OK, if not after Sun Records, then after what? There are several schools of thought: after he went to the Army, two years after he returned from the Army, after the ‘68 TV Comeback special. Which one is yours?
and lack of taste is lack of taste judging from some of the responses in this thread.
The category is music.
