British archaeologists have unearthed a giant complex near the ancient city of Ur in southern Iraq.
The area is believed to have been home to Abraham, father of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
As the find is 4,000 years old, roughly the same age as Abraham himself, it raises the tantalising possibility of a direct link with one of history's most significant religious figures.
Complexes of that size from 2,000BC are extremely rare, according to Dr Campbell.

I never said Abraham fathered the Islam. I said he fathered Ishmael.
Oh dear!!! I am sure you accidently miswrote Rachel down, instead of Hagar, who was the maid of Sarah, who mothered the child Ishmael. Ishmael was not the child of promise from God, but rather a child of unbelief. Isaac was the son of promise, who was mothered by Sarah.
Rachel was the beloved wife of Jacob, who was the mother of Joseph and Benjamin.
OK, great! I guess it was the word “actually” that confused me. Glad you know that Abraham is not the father of Islam.
I see that you caught this mistake before my post. Sorry for the redundancy. Love my Rachel and wanted to set her wonderful record straight. God bless!
Genesis 16: 11-12
The angel of the Lord also said to her (Hagar):
You are now pregnant
and you will give birth to a son.
You shall name him Ishmael,
for the Lord has heard of your misery.
He will be a wild donkey of a man;
his hand will be against everyone
and everyones hand against him,
and he will live in hostility
toward all his brothers.
Hey...we were lucky they didn’t blame the Christians and the Jews for destroying Ur.
