Fonda said she knew immediately that she had made a mistake and has apologized repeatedly, both privately and publicly

First off, let's be honest here, Jane. It wasn't a mistake, but was done with malice aforethought.

Second, some wrongs can be forgiven with simple words of apology; others require atonement. Where's yours?

Right. She screwed up royally and PUBLICALLY.

Her ‘apologies’ are few and far between and no where near as public as the publicized screw up, which by the way, bought her tons of free, and for the period, very lucrative and 'cool' publicity. She cashed in on the screw up and hasn't been able to live it down, since.

Besides, nothing in her behavior or speech since then is consistent with contrition on this.
