Word For The Day, Wednesday, April 3, 2013-- equipoise

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
equipoise
[ee-kwuh-poiz, ek-wuh-]
hear it pronounced
noun
1. an equal distribution of weight; even balance; equilibrium.
2. a counterpoise.
verb (used with object)
3. to equal or offset in weight; balance.
Origin:
mid-17c., from merger of the phrase equal poise.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

We are ploughing new ground. People who signed that recall petition never thought that their names would be revealed. But “True the Vote” out of Texas entered all of the signtures into a data base and made it public.
