If North Korea Starts a War the United States Will Lose

The United States faces, in my opinion, a less than 0.5% chance of being hit by a crude or advanced fission type nuclear weapon by North Korea. In fact the delivery systems they currently possess limit the ability of the regime in Pyongyang to very few targets outside of their region, putting US troops at risk but worse, the ability to destroy America does exist in that region. One map illustrating the targets of highest probability demonstrates why:

Is China willing to take the hit on their economy? Today we have the economic version of MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction).

Hyberbole? Assumption?

If on 9-10-01 you publicly said that a bunch of rag heads in the desert of A-stan would take out the WTC and attack the heart of the USA - that too would have been ridiculed as hyperbole and assumption, even though Bin Laden declared war on us back in 1997 and attacked us time and again with no response.

Here the Norks have declared a state of war and have stated they were taking offensive positions to hit the USA as well as our allies. Today may very well be a kind of 9-10-01 in regards to the Norks.

The world smells our rot and understands how easily it would be to take us out by forcing an event that kicks out the glass legs holding up the house of cards our economy has become under the MarxoFascists.

Bin Laden himself stated that the way to defeat the USA is to force an event to cause our economy to collapse on itself and trigger the world to rule without any influence from us to keep the hard won peace after the Second World War. I’m sure the Communist Norks understand this - as do their Islamist allies in Tehran.

1. Consider the radioactivity which would be injected into the atmosphere. The prevailing winds are westerly.

2. The nuclear cat would be out of the bag.

“May want to view satellite photos of NK at night.”

I have it on good authority from their dear leader, that those satellite photos have been photoshoped by our CIA as part of U.S. disinformation. LOL

my remark concerned the infrastructure of the regime - governmental, commercial and military and the means for any of it to continue to help the regime keep any control, much less take care of the mebers of the regime at any level

I know many citizens are eating bark this winter. So would be the Kim family and their minions.

As each attempts to read tea leaves; the moves on the chess board of the world abound. Everyone with common sense wants to be wrong. That is true of me too. I pray intensely to be wrong but that preparedness is paramount in the minds of those having to figure out what, when, and where. The consequences of actions never go without reactions. This time though our Generals better have standing orders from top down ... for communication may be impossible or nearly impossible. Similar to Israel’s Sampson Option.

China could be involved in this as it lets them evaluate our capabilities/technology.

Most astronomers, and other interested parties, are saying that the KMS 3-2 is a dead satellite and it is merely tumbling along in its polar orbit. Nice altitude for some nefarious shenanigans and quite a feat for the NKs.

“Here the Norks have declared a state of war”

The U.S. and S.K. don’t disagree with that. There has never been a peace treaty, only an armistice. In the historical sense and in an international law sense, we have remained in a state of war all this time. The armistice is an agreement to SUSPEND hostilities, not end the state of war which awaits negotiations to reach a peace agreement, which has not happened to date.

The north is posturing, not stating some new condition.

This would not be the first time they said the armistice has been broken by mere military excersizes on the part of the U.S. and SK.

They want something - money, fuel, food, not a war.

But they will threaten the peace with their belligerent posturing in the hopes the threats alone get them something they want, particularly food, money & fuel; not a war.

They have $6 trillion in unmixed rare earth minerals. They absolutely have something Japan and SK would love to get their hands on. China too.

force an event to cause our economy to collapse on itself

and so then it was tried, tried, tried again.

and zer0 said to the Russians ... I'll have more flexibility after the election. Sounded like zer0 knew the election was in the bag.

“if on 9-10-01 you publicly said that a bunch of rag heads in the desert of A-stan would take out the WTC and attack the heart of the USA - that too would have been ridiculed as hyperbole”

no

the intelligence said the wanted to make some kind of fantastic attack on U.S. and/or U.S. interests, using airplanes - what the intelligence did not know was when, where and where and who were the agents who would try to do it

that was not hyperbole, it was also not actionable because of what it lacked, but it did mean that if they could carryout such an attack, it could be literally anywhere

again,

I don’t rule out many possibilities

but I do reject the speculations that too me are fanciful and predicting far more than is predictable

“Is China willing to take the hit on their economy?”

That’s one of the strategic guessing game questions.

I am sure there some in certain U.S. circles that think they have an educated answer to that question.

Myself, I would not place a bet either way.

The North Koreans have orbited a satellite, and its still in orbit.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwangmy%C5%8Fngs%C5%8Fng-3_Unit_2

It’s in a 300 by 360 mile, nearly polar orbit, orbital period about 95 minutes.

If they have the capacity to launch in a more easterly path, they can improve on the payload to orbit. They will pass over the United States a number of times each day. They don’t have to target with any precision, simply explode their weapon at a time that maximizes the effect of the EMP blast.

What looks like an innocent toy satellite explodes without warning.

I don’t think it’s possible to detect the radioactive contents of an orbiting satellite from 300 miles away.
