Most home-schoolers use the curricula of their choice, and don’t seek assistance from any governmetn entity on academic matters. If the fed or states try to impose that garbage, the answer won’t be yes. (prudential evasion and time-buying is an acceptable stretegy in my book.)

Mr. Card needs to completely sever the umbilical to the state. Get out of any gov't sponsored schooling program, including ones that supply the curricula and supervise your home schooling activities.

But they sure did fix the tests.
Well damn - there go the accordion lessons!
Our children need to be trained to spot the difference between agenda driven information and real information. They need to be armed to question in specific ways and to be alert to propaganda techniques which are often rather obvious and predictable when you know the signs. This will equip them to not be used as pawns in any scenario. This could be posed as a “consumer aware” agenda if it needs to be slipped into the regular curriculum of public school. Of course children should not be in public school, which we can control in our own families...but what about the many who are being programmed there who will later vote?
Online charter schools are not homeschooling, it is doing school at home.
They are different.
Beware parents.
I think that our Education Establishment will always grab as much as they can grab. They will always dumb down as much as they can dumb down.
They will always push as far as the people let them push. So my advice, for what it’s worth, is to fight every inch of the way. Never accept any idea that the so-called professional educators think is a good idea: Cscope, common core curriculum, reform math, balanced literacy, constructivism... All of these things are scams. Treat them like they are enemy invaders, because they basically are.
(Anybody who thinks that homeschoolers will be left alone is very naive. I sometimes think the whole point of common core curriculum is to eventually use it to crack down on homeschoolers.)
