Please, Ti-don’t ruin our day-and Nancy hasn’t been able to move her facial muscles that much since she started injecting industrial strength botox into her face...

Thank you!

I think I’d have said something about sticking to the meaning of Easter instead of pandering, and left.

I think they’d be better off punting it to the states, where it really belongs. Marriage is a sacrament, not a “right” to be dictated by the fed. I would not be unhappy at all to see the sacrament of marriage being performed in churches, temples, etc by clergy-a civil contract is a separate thing. Same gender couples can’t be married anyway, no matter what they call it.

Google has come into some criticism for its fatuous choice to honor leftist Cesar Chavez with its doodle on Easter Sunday; even Marxist Mika found Google's Chavez doodle to be a poor choice, and today a FReeper reputed to be willing to hit just about anything that wears a skirt duped several on FR with his fictitious Google Apology Fox News article.

In the original foot-washing ceremony, didn’t Jesus also wash Judas’s feet? I suppose if Jesus washed even the feet of Judas in giving His divine example of our service to others, I would be hesitant to judge too harshly based on whose feet get washed.

Its not an ordination. Its a demonstration of service. I think it sends a good tone.

Those obsessed with liturgical purity need to understand that the pope can alter the liturgy. He does have that authority. And apparently this old tradition of foot washing at the Holy Thursday mass is less than 100 years old. It started as an “innovation” of another pope.

In sum, much bigger things to worry about than trying to be more liturgically correct than the pope.

And “dont be fatuous, Jeffrey.”

That was the exact same point the spouse made after the brouhaha erupted.
