I will say actual Suger in a Soft Drink is far Superior to Corn Syrup.

But they use it because it is alot cheaper.

Cutting the use of corn syrup is another kick in the crotch for our farmers.

I’m sorry this is just too much like a “scary story”.

Ooh, there is measurable Mercury!!!! Of course, they don’t say how much. They can measure extremely minute things in the parts per trillion for some things.

Please, everyone, listen to me! Stop eating anything because it WILL kill you, just look at the people who have gone before us, they ate and they died.

Once you eliminate HFCS from your diet, you automatically have improved the quality level of your food intake.

Good quality food does not have HFCS as an ingredient.

Next thing to eliminate is partially hydrogenated soybean oil.

It’s just SUGAR, no different than table sugar.

Just as bad, but no worse.

I was brought up in the country, in a family that didn’t drink soda or eat “sweets” or processed foods-we still don’t. So, I don’t see what all the fuss is-what difference does it make where the processed sugar comes from-it still isn’t good for the human body, for any number of reasons. That said, adults are responsible for themselves and their diet, period.

There are few, if any benefits, and lots of adverse effects, associated with sugar consumption, either sucrose or fructose. Fructose may be a bit worse, but excess sucrose consumption also leads to late onset diabetes in the adult population and has for centuries. Dad always said, “avoid consuming anything white if you can and if it comes in a bag or a box, don’t eat it.”

Humans existed until 1700 without processed sugars. It was a big deal to get anything particularly sweet. When chocolate was introduced, it was the 70% cacao variety, not the Hersheys super-sweet kind. Until the late 1970 humans never consumed high-fructose corn syrup. Now it is in nearly EVERYTHING. Our bodies are simply not designed to take it sweets in such amounts. That there are obese people everywhere should come as no surprise.

There's nothing particularly bad about high fructose corn syrup according to this website.

How about not drinking soda? Has no health benefits and plenty of questions about its junk ingredients. Who needs it? Big waste of money.

Don’t remember the last time I bought soda of any kind.

Fructose is bad in large quantities.
Fructose is about 50% of HFCS.
Fructose is about 50% of Honey.
Fructose is about 50% of table sugar.
Fructose is more than 50% of agave sugar.

One of the only common sources of sweet that is not loaded with fructose is good old fashioned corn syrup.

Even the most aggressive anti fructose advocates say the fructose you get when you eat whole fruit is okay, but fruit juice is not — apple juice and grape juice are a major source of excess fructose, and are just as bad as HFCS.

A little is okay, huge quantities will kill you, eventually.

My credentials: I’m a chemist, I like sweet stuff, and I’m fat.

The good news is that HFCS is no worse for you than sugar.

The bad news is that it is just as bad for you as sugar.

Excessive consumption of both are causing huge amounts of health problems for Americans
